The Mess I'm In

Last night, I was surprised when you jumped out and wished me all the best.
You have a habbit of turning up when I am really quite depressed.

'Cause you do not appreciate the mess I'm in.
The mess I'm in. The mess I'm in. The mess I'm in.

You blow whistles and hoot loud horns, you're in my life and in my face.
I don't mean to be cruel but can't you find a better time and place?

'Cause you do not appreciate the mess I'm in.
The mess I'm in. The mess I'm in. The mess I'm in.

Far be it from me to bring you down, to bring you down.
Sometimes I just wish that you were someone else's clown.

You're like a stand up comedian telling blue jokes at someone's wake.
I wish you'd be more circumspect with all the liberties you take.

'Cause you do not appreciate the mess I'm in.
The mess I'm in. The mess I'm in. The mess I'm in.

Far be it from me to bring you down, to bring you down.
Sometimes I just wish that you were someone else's clown.
